In August of 1966, Brian sprung into production with SMiLE, getting famous session musician group together, The Wrecking crew.
Brian and co-write Van Dyke Parks, began writing their first song, Heroes and Villains a song about Native Americans and Colonizers that Brian would work on endlessly, being done in multiple takes across multiple studios in L.A, eventually starting work on other songs such as "Vega-Tables" "Cabin Essence" and of course, Good Vibrations from May to Novemember from August to October.
In November, Brian would start sessions on "The Elements" A multi-part suite focusing on... the elements, Surf's Up, A song about a spirital awakening, and my only sunshine. A cover of the song "You are My Sunshine. Other audio projects would also be done here, such as Psycodelic Sounds, skits that would focus on Brian and his friends and the humourous situations, ultimately only a few were ever compilied. But eventually, cracks would start to show, as the originally slated release window of December was missed and production bled into 1967
