The Revival of SMiLE!

Brian Wilson in 1966

After the 60s, Warner Bros (their new label) attempted to make SMiLE happen one more time in 1973, but this was to no avail. At this point they considered SMiLE dead. Brian considered this his life's greatest failure.

After this "faliure" Brian would soon sink deeper into his decline, this story is way too long to go into on this short paragraph, but in short, his "psychiatrist" Eugene Landy Recessitated Brian out of a 2 year period where Brian would do nothing but lay in bed, Eat Food, and do drugs. He would eventually start touring with the Beach Boys again after quitting in 1965, and after that proved to be unfufilling starting touring on his own, during this period of dormancy, Dennis Wilson would allegedly stand outside of Brother Records (their newer record label) and just hand people audio bootlegs of the SMiLE sessions on tape and told people to make their own version at home. This would eventually circulate into the First couple SMiLE bootleg lps, in which it would gain more notority. Brother Records and The Beach Boys would attempt to create a dedicated SMiLE Box-Set but would be shut down by Brian due to his trauma working on SMiLE, only having snippets and certain songs released on the 30 year boxset "Good Vibrations: 30 Years of The Beach Boys"

Fast forward to the 90s, Brian would work with Van Dyke on another album called "Orange Crate Art" which fueled rumors of potentially finishing SMiLE. an after keyboardist Darian Sahanaja joined the band (Who had previously worked on the zine "Look, Listen, Vibrate, SMiLE!" of which this website gets it's name.). He and Melinda Ledbetter would succesfully petition Brian to add Our Prayer and Surf's Up into regular setlists. and after a short period time preforming Pet Sounds live in the 2000s, Brian would soon undertake work Attempting to make SMiLE happen in the form of a live show, after working with Parks again to finish some of the lyrics to the songs. and in 2004, he would debut "Brian Wilson presents SMiLE" Live to raving reviews! and after this positive reception, Would work on recording a studio version of "Brian Wilson presents SMiLE!" and would release it on September 28, 2004. Finally giving Brian Wilson, A Happy ending.

And then The SMiLE Sessions box set released and that kinda made BWPS obsolete, but whatever.

THE END!
